About me…

I figured there’s no time like the present to get my website up and going again. I’m looking to make this more like a public blog than anything else. Links and things I don’t mind sharing with the world. There’s not much I keep private these days. I love too many nerdy things for that. I am prone to random movie quotes as well as song lyrics at the drop of a hat. I’m crafty and like to knit and crochet. I also work with digital media. I make music videos, edit a few web pages, and work in photoshop like it’s my job… and sometimes it actually is. ;)

I hope you enjoy my dorky little corner of the world and find some of this interesting.

Music You Need to Look At

Thanks to several different sources I have all sorts of music to share today!

1. The Bravery - My friend made a video to their song Above and Below. Ever since I watched the vid, I’ve not been able to stop listening to their CD. Go here to watch her vid(Supernatural, season 4 vid) Also, Check out the band’s page and give them a listen. I got their CD from amazon.com and it was well worth the $8 I paid. Seriously… the whole CD is excellent and so worth buying. There’s not one song that I don’t like. They remind me of like a combo of the Cure, The Killers, and… something else. I don’t know.

2. Lisa Hannigan - My mom sent me this cd in the mail because she thought I would like it. So right. This woman sounds like Feist a little bit. It’s like a bluesy soft feel with some notes of Tori Amos and some folksy love in there too. Seriously, mom… home run here. Visit her site and give her a listen. :) I don’t know how my mother found this woman, but I’m really enjoying this cd.

3. Serena Ryder - She opened up for Eric Hutchinson when I saw him this Friday in Atlanta and she’s got a voice that reminds me of my friend Brooke Meyers a little. Really strong voice and a really tiny woman. Check out her site. She sold her CDs at the concert for “whatever you can give” and that was kind of cool. I oddly like her CD better than I liked her solo performance because she just played guitar and sang. Her duet with Eric on “You Don’t Have to Believe Me” was just kick ass though…

Let me know what you think by dropping me an email at marymoline at gmail! Cheers.

This fangirl has been killed dead.

Um… as my cousin Nick said… “This is one step closer to Supernatural Porn…” I fangirled so hard I think I may have broken something.

One of my favorite vids by someone else…

This video is proof that you can do something amazing with a source without sex or violence. The video is just stunning. Her use of movement and beat is SPOT ON and the bit immediately following 1:28 is just amazing. Each dance move flows into the next and the camera movements track from one film source to the next. Amazing work.

You can send her loving comments at her journal. Please do so. Vidders live for comment love!

Tuesday Night Knitting Club

I’ve gone and bitten the bullet and formed a knitting club. I’m in my city of Atlanta again and it’s exciting to finally be back here. I do however want to meet some new people and see new things so I figure the best way to do that is to get out of my basement and meet some new people. My good friend Lil works at a coffee house so we’ll be meeting there every Tuesday night.

My Family - A quick explanation

The Horne Family 1997

My family’s huge. You should probably know that about me first. We took that be fruitful and multiply thing to heart. We’re also insanely close. My dad has called us “A pile of puppies” for how much we’re in and out of each other’s lives. Some of the family still lives in Toledo, where I’m from, but we’re also in Washington state, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and if you count second cousins, we’ve got several countries and most of the United States covered.

I post this so you’ll understand that when I’m talking about my family, it’s almost like an institution…. but in a good way.

Didn’t want to reinvent the wheel…
